Day 32 – Happy Birthday to meeee!

I am another year older! (And back from my travels to Shanghai and Hangzhou…) It’s been a whirlwind weekend and vacation…I’m not altogether sure that I’m ready to go back to classes, but I’ve little choice in that.  I think I could definitely stay another week in Hangzhou–it’s absolutely gorgeous there and I had a marvelous time with my Uncle and Aunt.

Let’s start off with some shots of the Shanghai leg of my trip. The night I arrived, I was taken for a spin for a view of Shanghai-by-night:

I can’t quite remember the story behind those Kongming lanterns, but they have to do with some kind of military strategy famed Chinese strategist Zhuge Liang thought of during the Three Kingdoms period.
